A full remodel that transformed a mid-century home into a personalized forever space—bold, modern, and thoughtfully designed for beauty, comfort, and life’s next chapter.

Rooted in Place: A Mid-Century Home Reimagined for What's Next

For this vibrant pair of empty nesters, moving wasn’t the answer—reinvention was. Embracing the character of their mid-century home, they chose to stay and shape it into a modern reflection of who they are now and how they want to live next. Every space was reimagined: a larger, light-filled kitchen with picture windows framing garden views; a luxurious new en-suite designed for aging in place with heated floors, dual showerheads, and subtle accessibility features; and a walk-in closet cleverly repurposed from a former Jack-and-Jill bath. Throughout the home, rich hardwoods were refinished, a dated fireplace redefined, and layers of thoughtful updates—like modern black-trimmed windows and a hidden laundry tucked into the office—brought ease and elegance to daily life. With bold blues honoring their connection to Spelman College and Phi Beta Sigma, this remodel is deeply personal, proudly rooted, and made for the future.
